Current research in the UCSD NASA Lab includes what we call flight experiments as well as activities closer to the ground.

Our current flight experiment, which we call PuFF, took place on the International Space Station with "data takes" happening on a roughly monthly basis. We are now in the post-flight phase of this experiment.

We have completed two sessions of a new series of experiments aboard NASA's "Vomit Comet", a modified KC-135 refueling plane that NASA uses for "ground" research.

Finally, we are always working on a number of experiments, feet firmly planted on the Earth. Some currently active experiments include computer modelling of aerosol deposition in the lung while breathing normal air and/or heliox, as well as inversion studies.

Please feel welcome to learn about these and other experiments we are doing or have done in our lab!
